With a tremendous potential of hydroelectricity in Nepal, the Electrical Engineering department has been in operation over 4 years in the development of skilled manpower, and its contribution to new frontiers of knowledge in electrical engineering is immense.

The horizon of electrical engineering has expanded continuously and there is no sign of this expansion diminishing. In recent years, noticeable areas of development have been the evolution of large scale electric network, grid interconnection of photovoltaic, wind and other sources of renewable energy, integration of small hydro to a mini-grid, development of environment friendly vehicles (solar cars), etc. All these areas are in accord with Nepal’s future in Hydropower development, Industrial Innovation, and development of energy efficient devices. Our graduates are in high demand here in Nepal and overseas, and if Nepal has to succeed then the demand of electrical engineers must continue to grow.

Department conducts different extra-curricular activities time to time engaging both the students and the faculties like; presentation classes, minor-projects, Research and Development support, field visits to different power plant sites etc. We do regular meetings every month, towards the end when we cherish our achievements and discuss further on what should be done next. We publish the journal on yearly basis with the papers of our fourth year students and the e-magazine including different activities of the department and the club. Besides, we also work to invite different projects from private sectors, government sectors and other research agencies.

From the desk of HOD and DHOD, we admire for our former and present faculties, partners, non-teaching staffs and students who contributed to the department to make it the best so far. We, further look forward for the continuous co-operation for betterment. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all who are associated with the department. We want to assure that the good trends shall remain forever and innovation shall always be encouraged which uplifts the status of the students, the department, the campus and the whole University.
